I just had an audition tonight for a high school student role for a TV show and I thought that it went well in the beginning. I was a little bit nervous, which is a given, but I wished I kept my jacket on during the audition because I started to shiver in the last bit! The auditors must have thought I was really nervous. Oh well, what's done is done and it was a great experience to remember. Lesson of the day, remember to keep your jacket on to keep yourself warm.
Had a first rehearsal yesterday for the student film I'm casted in and it was great meeting the 2 actresses playing the female characters. After a couple of hours, we nailed the characters and the scenes down pat. Now I'm looking forward for a second rehearsal to fine tune everything before the actual shoot.
Yesterday's night acting class was EPIC! It was full of laughs because the teacher encouraged the students to step out of our comfort zones and take our favourite English song to play it as a monologue, stand-up comedy and Shakespearean performance! You had to be there to know how funny it was.
I forgot to mention that last week, I got a callback for the lead role in the student short film! I'm so excited and can't wait to start filming.
Wow, that was quick! You SERIOUSLY gotta check out the fight choreography video that was filmed yesterday. Once again, special thanks to VI Film and Entertainment Cooperative for organizing the learning session.
I had a lot of fun learning about safety and different camera angles for fight choreography today. Special thanks to VI Film and Entertainment Cooperative for organizing this learning session.
I had my first acting class with Ian Ferguson last night and all I can think of is how much fun it was to learn from him. I highly recommend him and this school!
For my first post, I'm just going to say how happy and excited I am that I nailed my audition for a student film on Thursday, and on Friday I got a call back as a reader for the girls who will be auditioning next week. I don't know if I got the role yet, but I'm sure glad I made a good impression! What a great start to this journey :)
